Description
The official hummingbird feeder of the Oak Ridge Bird Man! But why does it look like that?
While all the feeders available from ORBM put an emphasis on being easy to clean, hummingbird feeders – on account of how readily their contents spoil – merit an even greater level of consideration to maintenance. Hummingbirds can only reach nectar to a depth of just over an inch, and as such, this hummingbird feeder is just over an inch deep. Likewise, nectar goes bad within just a day or two, so the capacity on this feeder is just enough for one to two days (depending on how many birds you have, and how thirsty they may be).
Want the most out of your feeder? Give it a quick scrub before every refill, and make sure to set up an “ant moat” to keep the six-legged variety at bay. It’s easy! Just set the feeder in a small, shallow plate or saucer, fill it up to the edge with water, and presto! You’re ant-free.
